What a season. Technically finished 1pt off champions but ended up 5th place after our 2-1 victory over Gillingham.

Sounded like a very flat 1st half (in front of 38k mind) but although not overly convincing in the 2nd, we got the goals and the points. Carole sounded good after replacing Sweeney.

A cracker from Johnson and also Tres on the score sheet which is good.

It must be noted though, a lot of regulars were rested for the match. Becks will be back training this week and should be right to go.

Good to see Gillingham go down, hopefully that shuts up their chairman. Also, I'm glad Forest got up over Carlisle and Doncaster considering they were the only one not whinging about our appeal and they also originally voted against our 15 point penalty. Hopefully we can join them next season.

I think these play-off dates are correct. Just reported on Yorkshire Radio although there was some confusion over whether the 2nd leg is Thursday or Friday.

1st Leg:
Leeds v Carlisle - Monday May 12, 7.45pm (Tuesday May 13, 4.45am AEST)

2nd Leg:
Carlisle v Leeds - Thursday May 15, 7.45pm (Friday May 16, 4.45am AEST)

finishing 5th of course puts us in that one
it also says if we finish 6th or we play doncaster or carlisle the away leg will be saturday morning

well......fuckin 1-0 down at half time. we have created well, looked good going forward of the last 20 mins or so. started to pass it around and create.

BUT huntington and lubo have been fucking atrocious, our marking is terrible, they aren't getting up for corners/freekicks (we are taking these short everytime) cause they aren't getting up there...probly a team plan, but their play has been fucking gash

freak goal to give them the lead from a corner which wasnt even theres....bring rui on in the second though. johnson doing OK down the left, not great but all their attacks are coming thru the right side of defence...someone needs to tell fucking frazer richardson he isn't a winger, this guy is terrible and i cannot believe he is still playing for us. hackney is tearing him a new one

carlisle keeper has made a couple of v good saves...one from beckford in particular. hopefully we can get a couple on the board in the second half...crowd relatively quiet - not sure if thats sky tuning them out or the bandwagoners present today

That was a frustrating performance. Our defence looked extremely shaky and only looked decent once Carlisle took the 2 goal lead. Mainly due to them sitting back a bit.

Carlisle's general pressure around the park was far superior than ours which didn't give us much time on the ball and saw our midfield struggle to gel.

Westwood made some quality saves, particularly the one from Beckford in the 1st half. Against another keeper, we may have had 2 or 3 goals.

The ref did add on an extra minute at the end (meant to be 94mins not 95mins...Hugh's card meant time had to be added on), but lets be honest, that corner from which Carlisle's first goal resulted, was NEVER EVER a corner!

Thank god we got a late goal. It's going to be hard to beat Carlisle there, especially with their home record but at least that goal gives us some kind of chance. AWAY GOAL RULE DOESN'T COUNT.

You are kidding Samuel? I hope so. He got forward far too much and was ok in that sense, but his positioning was fucking horrible. He is a right-back!! Where was he for the 2nd goal? Absolutely disgraceful, both goals from his side of defense. The second was atrocious, their left back waltzed round him like he wasnt even there and cut back for an easy tap in. Bring back Teddy Lucic!

Defence and midfield weren't great tonight. Hunts and Lubo improved marketedly in the second half but they were terrible in the first half. Sitting back far too much and no aerial dominance! Enough said about Frazer and despite his effort, I thought we had learnt not to play players out of position. Johnson wasn't great opening 25 but was better after that.

Kilkenny and Prutton were good in midfield I thought, although Howson had a shocker. Seemed to be overawed of the occasion. Kilks is a top passer and Prutton worked his fucking socks off. Tres was good as a sub, offered a lot and Dougie's goal was perfect. Just what we needed, keeping us fucking alive! JB was subbed cause of injury/precaution Sammy. We need him for the second leg
