Hey guys,

Just thought I should let you know...

You may of heard of a Collingwood fan who was hit by a train last night...That was my mate Johnny who I'm pretty sure a few of you have met...Hes in a bad way at the moment and its not looking that good, Me and Peter had the sorry task of identifying him and he is not looking good. Hes lost his hand and is still in coma with a small chance of waking up.

Please give him a thought and hope for the best.

Cheers.

Terrible news Liam. My thoughts are with his family and friends. Hope the lad wakes up and can make some sort of recovery.

Nope they've been identified and they flew down yesterday morning and have visited Johnny twice already.

Joey, my old man and I are having dinner with them tonight and then visiting Johnny again.

Johnnys doing well. Just got discharged from hospital and has now started his rehabilition at Epworth in Richmond. Thought I'd lost one of my best mates, but somehow he has pulled through.

Anyway thats a group I've set up for young Johnny; as he lives down here by himself and will find money hard to come by when he recovers, I thought it'd be nice to give him a bit of a head start so if anyones interested in donating even the smallest amount it would be greatly appreciated.

Fair enuff with your idea Liam, but is there anything he really needs apart from cash? As in not matierial - more practical assistance

Probably just as important to get his head sorted - show hes still wanted needed in society, not a reject on a scrap heap - not saying he is - I think you know what I mean

Well his parents are going to be paying out of their ears for all that kinda thing; rehab, prosthetic hand and rent for him for the next year or so (hes a very long time from going back to work.)

Hes a real battler and I just thought it would be nice if I tried to organise some things for him to keep his mind off whats happened...I think they're practical anyway...A laptop to stay in contact with his family, a Trojan Athletic top, Dads buying him a year long subscription to foxtel so that he doesnt have to go to the pub so often etc...
