Richmond v Green Gully this friday night @ KB. Due to us playing on saturday I won't be having a huge one after but I will definitely make this game.

Richmond impressed last friday night, after a tight first half they really turned it on in the second and came out emphatic 5-1 winners.

I'll be attending some games this season, probably not as many as last year cause of Year 12 & work but will still endeavour to see a few games. Not going to 'follow' a side, just watch some local football...if only Essendon were still in the comp - the short trip to Bulleen would be gold.

Want to go and see Melbourne Knights a few times this year especially the MCF, really interested in them. Frankston Pines would be good to see and I'm sure I'll pop in at a couple of Richmond games to say hello to you boys. Last year visited Heidelberg, Essendon, Hellas, Green Gully, Kingston, Oakleigh, Richmond and a few others...still a few to cross off the list.

Changed your tune a bit mate? Why the change of heart?

Its my sentiments aswell, dont support a club but love watching the matches. Will try my best to get to Knights and Hellas this year simply to visit their stadiums.

I love watching football of any standard.....I've just changed tune in that in the past I would love to chant etc at every opportunity (AFL, VPL etc...)but my style/stance of support has changed and I see it as a thing that needs to be genuine and a bit more serious...I won't be singing many songs at VPL games, but still want to get to them....

Also, we've done Hellas! Ryan trying to find something in his flask ring any bells?

Essendon down at the Veneto Club would have been perfect.

The Knights fans were good value whenever I saw them last season so will definitely be keen to check out a few of their games. Ditto with Hellas for the pure fact that they play at a decent venue.

Checked out Altona V Green Gully Sat night, 0-0 bore fest, then went out to Fawkner yesterday to see Blues V Knights, which ended in an entertaining 1-1 draw.

MCF were in the corner of the stand, about a dozen 15-16 year olds with a couple of banners and a song book you could fit on an acid trip, but were fairly vocal and absolutley own South's CC.

The old Cro's piped up when the equaliser came from a penalty in the 87th minute and the sound from under the grandstand was pretty loud. Can't wait to check them out at Somers St. in the next few weeks when the older MCF lads get down there.

Yep...

As an Australian Australian I find it hard to back any of the teams in the VPL. I go to watch Richmond because my brother plays there, its close to my house and alot of my mates follow them but I cant get behind them passionately (as much as I tried too).

VPL has so much potential, if the clubs were run better and the league (and clubs) kept their website up to date and gave people a chance to stay in tune with whats happening then it would attract alot more regulars to games IMO.

I've heard alot about MCF but have never seen them live...Whats so special about them? Are they much different to the Clarendon Corner or the Preston Boys of old?

Olympic Village is my favourite stadium, its a mini olympic park and is the perfect size for a VPL club. Pitch is in shocking condition at the moment though.

MCF are a well organised group of fans who in my opinion are the best in Australia. They absolutely adore their club (being brought up into it helps I suppose), have small numbers but are tight-knit and have exactly the right attitude.

They all dress superbly and their standards/banners are all top notch. I'm really keen to check them out gameday - I'm sure they won't be you boys' cup of tea but I'm definitely keen. They've got a terrific website -

- if the Melbourne supporters scene became like that I'd be pretty happy.

I've seen MCF last year and they were great, those Croats have some booming voices and chants in other languages always sound great.
Most impressive.

True, but i'd rather listen to CC than the church atmosphere of any other team that never played NSL.

Dunno if your refering to Victory or not, but if you are then I think MVFC is getting its act together and next season "should" be a shit load better

Hope so anyway

Not at all, I was referring to Victory off season, when the 'effnik' teams come out to play.

Hellas, Bergers, Preston, Whttilesea, mini Berlin @ KB reserve (now) and Melb Croatia are the only clubs that make a bit of noise in the VPL.

Victory will be better next season, it seems protesting sometimes pays dividends, even if they did have to compromise L3.
