lol. Good post, I agree!
Yeh it's a shit area for pubs. And Jimmy, I agree we don't want to become OzSpurs V.2.0 Beta.
Perhaps we give RMH or GW a go the first week then and see how it gos? If it's shit we can look to have a few drinks elsewhere? |

James wrote: You do realise as soon as we start singing these pubs are going to give us the boot? I'd rather be at the Great Western or the Royal where there is atmosphere. I know it's packed and tough to get a beer but I really enjoy the pre-match.
I also won't have the cash to be forking out for pub lunches + 2+3 pints before every match. Maybe I suggest making it to 12-1pm meet up so we can go to other pubs before the game? I've got lots of mates at other pubs who I want to catch up with and I'm sure the rest of us are the same - also possibly better if we don't become a 'group' like the Ozspurs..look where that got them.
Agree with the idea and all and would be great to catch up with everyone again, how about we do something before the season starts? Still a couple of weeks to go...apologise for the negative tone in this post, just my thoughts!
Agreed.
OzSpurs got in shit with other supporters for chanting Tottenham stuff at Victory games, so that means absolutely no leeds songs as we are there as victory fans IMO.
Agree, just see how GW/RMH is the first few rounds. |

I do want to get into the cauldron of the GW and mix it up pre-match, but I also understand what Pete means about just getting us together for an hour and having a beer somewhere quiet.
I think on Sunday games it could work better, maybe meet up in a small bar for an hour or 2 before heading wherever we want to prepare for the MV game and a 5pm kick off. We should definately look into it. |

agree with most of that
but this is the pre-season meet up thread so lets not get too far ahead of ourselves
maybe for our first game sep 1 we meet at 3pm somewhere
game starts 7.30 so if we have 1 hour or 2 for leeds then and same for victory it will be all good |

Think alot of the lads are going to The Colonial so thats where Im heading I reckon.
As for getting there, we're a big enough group to make noise where ever we're standing so I reckon get there 15 minutes before hand. |

I'll be city way pretty early tomorrow. Dunno exactly what time I'll be getting to the pub but could be 3ish. Probably shifting between Great Western and RMH. |

Good point mate, never thought of this, even if we were near where we were for the first final against the barrel boys would be good cos we'd have a lot more people with us. Maybe aim to get to the gate by 6.40 or something as the queues can be a killer sometimes. |

I may be off the piss today due to my dodgy stomach, but ill see how I go.
Im heading in about 1, going to a place called Mrs Parma's on Lil Bourke, then probably Royal Melb then to Great Western closer to kick off.
See you all there! |
