Hi guys, just an update on the RMC.

Still no communication from Lorna over a month so I've asked someone at LUFC kindly what the f*ck is going on. Hoping to get it resolved shortly. In the meantime, our official certificate has arrived signed by Ken Bates and officially announcing us as a RMC.

We will also be featured in an upcoming match programme, I'm working on a little piece for it now. It's just a brief summary and a profile on someone and as they needed it done ASAP so I have just done a quick one on Ed. Dave I will need a couple of photos to send with this, can you email me a selection of the best LUV shots and I'll pick a couple?

No word on the signed shirts either, unfortunately no fault of my own, I keep plugging away with emails but not unlike LUFC to be as organised as an under 9's cricket team hey...

Will post more when I know more etc.

Jimmy

Okay, time to give this one a hoof.

Got an email back from the club today, it's good news. They have been working 'behind the scenes' at stuff for us over the last few weeks - just a pity they didn't stay in touch. But it's good to know we haven't been forgotten and the people I'm dealing with are top people so I'm sure we'll be OK.

They have been building up a bit of a collection of stuff for us - sent today was the signed home and away shirts by the squad, signed match ball, some pin badges, a signed Peter Lorimer book, some fixture cards and bookmarks, a couple of handbooks (?), the first copy of Leeds Leeds Leeds magazine our details were in, a few programs from the Yeovil game and one from the Hartlepool game.

That's just the first batch! In the next couple of weeks they'll be sending a few more little things including another shirt and some more programmes from the Hartlepool game (which we had a double page spread on the RMC in).

They mentioned they had our dinner in mind when sending the last batch of stuff, which has given me lots more inspiration to get it going. I was thinking the function could still go ahead - just at the end of the season? A chance to celebrate promotion etc. The club are working very hard on our part to help with the function. I will be in touch with those interested in helping out soon.

We are also putting in procedure some 'ground rules' in regards to interviewing players for our newsletter ... which is of course unacheivable without the club's help. So that's back on the agenda too.

Gonna have to work out what we are going to do with all the stuff, but things are looking good for Leeds fans in Oz. Direct communication with the club and them offering us so much support is a great thing.

That's all for now. Cheers.

They've done well for us. Not sure what the delay was - but they were working behind the scenes for us whilst I was trying to get in touch. I had no doubts, the people at LUFC we dealt with were top notch...

Your talking about the Commercial Inn yeah? That's Lorimer's pub, had a few pints in there before a midweek game, place was fuckin dead. Lorimer had just left only half an hour earlier or something so I missed the chance to sit down and have a chat (I had already met him so it wasn't such a big deal...) But me and my two mates were literally the only three in there. A shame because there is heaps of great LUFC memorabilia on the walls, but it's location isn't great and it is has a rep of being a bit of a "dive"

Well well well - have I got news to share!

Nice package has arrived from LUFC - couple of pics below.

We have recieved the following as gifts from the club:

Signed Away kit
Signed Home kit
Signed matchball (all by the entire playing squad)
Signed Peter Lorimer book
6 copies of Yeovil programme (Pete's name and mine mentioned, and LUV given a mention in Ken Bates programme notes)
1 copy of Hartlepool programme (where we had a 2 page spread in the matchday programme about LUV and a small interview with Ed - more are coming)
1 copy of Leeds Leeds Leeds magazine (first copy our details were mentioned in)
Three squad 2009/10 photos
Two Leeds United handbooks
And about 50 fixture list bookmarks + member pin badges
Plus a few brochures for extra time membership
And our certificate confirming us as a RMC signed by Bates

Not too bad hey! Fair lot better than what we were getting with the SC!

A few of the items listed above will be up for auction at our end of season dinner held in Melbourne. The away shirt has already been committed to one of our members who signed up before October 31 - I am thinking we will hold the draw on Saturday night at the pub...obviously the matchball/other shirt can be saved until the end of year dinner.

But I have a few things I can give away - Ed is going to bring some stuff to the pub on Saturday. Everyone can have a bookmark/member pin badges if they want them, then I also have a few Yeovil programmes, a couple of squad photos and handbooks.

If anyone wants owt give us a shout - most of the 'regulars' are on here so if you want anything I'll try get it to you. Shouldn't be a problem. The club have been very supportive and despite the initial delay in communication, I am now in regular touch with LUFC which is great news.

I am sitting down working on some initial plans for the dinner now - I want to get a few people who can help with me in making it all happen. Let me know if you can help, I won't go chasing people, but I am looking at a Sportsman's Type night. I have some great ideas and have already been discussing with LUFC how they can help.

This evening will be held at the end of the football season, hopefully to celebrate promotion.

It goes without saying that these gifts will only be available to members - so if you missed the cut off date with signing up, you can still do so now. The option is to sign up for Extra Time Membership - this covers the rest of this year and the 2010/11 season. This costs approximately $50.00.

Not in the benefits listed above is if you give enough notice - international members will recieve tickets to away games 99% of the time. In this instance, you would need to e-mail me at
